Tim Ward's primary interest is in music and new technology, with a principle focus on the use of computer technology in composition and performance.
His compositional activities center around three areas: electroacoustic music, the use of live electronics alongside acoustic instruments and computer controlled sonic installations. His performance activities concentrate on advanced sound diffusion techniques for the performance of electroacoustic music.
Tim studied music at BA, MA and PhD levels at the University of York, UK, and worked as a lecturer at various UK universities. He currently teaches various topics within music and music technology as a visiting tutor in the Music Department of the Ionian University and the Music Department of the American College of Greece.He is a member of the Sonic Arts Network, and also a founder member of the electroacoustic performance group Nerve8.
